I received my first calendar as a gift when I was 16. Paired with the discovery of coffee, this must have at least doubled my output and level of effectiveness. Planning is something that I'm good at, something I enjoy, but in the past years I also had to learn to resist, because at times my life became a hunt for ticked-off to-do boxes.
This is how I handle my upcoming trip too: plan as much as necessary, but as little as possible. So while I still don't know exactly which countries I'd like to see and how much time I'll spend there, with whom I'll travel and, to be honest, how I'll finance everything, I already began some preparations years ago. Here's an overview:
2020: Van conversion
2021-23: Russian courses
2022-23: Frequent trainings in a car repair shop
2022-23: Work & saving money
2022-23: Remodeling & adding parts to the van
2023: Vaccinations, health precautions, health insurance, etc.
2023: Issuing new travel documents
I will for sure get more into depth of my preparations at a later point. So stay tuned!
